Place of the Ancients, Guatemala
“Huehuetenango” means place of the ancients—and these misty highlands of western Guatemala, near the border with Mexico, have been growing coffee for well over a century. This exceptional single-origin comes from a small highland estate where one family has tended the same Bourbon and Caturra trees across three generations: a lifetime of tradition, care, and deep devotion to the land.
Grown in rich highland soils between 4,900 and 5,600 feet, the cherries are carefully washed and sun-dried on open patios—an unhurried process that gives the cup its remarkable depth and balance.
Flavor Profile
Naturally sweet and beautifully layered, this coffee opens with crisp red apple before settling into a smooth heart of chocolate, finished with a rich, nutty macadamia. Across a range of roast levels, it stays balanced, comforting, and endlessly satisfying.
