Volcán Velvet: Swiss Water Decaf, Guatemala
Volcán Velvet: Swiss Water Decaf, Guatemala

This decaf originates from Antigua, Guatemala—a region steeped in history and renowned as the epicenter of the country's finest coffee production. Beyond its picturesque cobblestone streets and colonial charm, Antigua has earned its reputation as a serious coffee destination, where high-elevation cultivation and generations of expertise converge to produce beans of exceptional quality. When you choose Volcán Velvet Decaf, you're selecting coffee from one of Guatemala's most celebrated growing regions, where tradition and terroir combine to create something truly special.

Decaffeination
We've chosen Swiss Water's innovative decaffeination process because it delivers what matters most: exceptional flavor without compromise. This chemical-free method works by gently hydrating green beans to capture their natural flavor essence before selectively removing caffeine through Swiss Water's patented water-based technology. The extracted flavors are then carefully reintroduced, ensuring you experience the full complexity and richness of the original coffee. The result is a decaf that doesn't taste like a decaf—it tastes like an exceptional specialty grade coffee, with every soluble flavor compound intact.
Flavor Profile
Get ready for a flavor adventure—chocolate and cinnamon warmth dancing with cherry cordial brightness and a playful kettle corn finish. This Guatemala decaf brings the richness and elegance you're after, wrapped up in the region's beloved nougat sweetness and gorgeous fruit notes. Want to unlock the magic? Give your brew a little extra time to work its charm. Add a minute to your French press or Aeropress steep, or go slightly finer with your grind for pour-overs and espresso. That extra contact time is your ticket to a velvety, flavor-packed cup that proves decaf doesn't have to mean compromise—it means delicious.
Brew Recommednations
We've dialed in the perfect brewing recipe for both roast levels. Start with our standard 10g per 150ml baseline, then fine-tune based on your roast preference. Going for the light roast? Bump it up to 10.5g and grind a touch finer to coax out those gorgeous chocolate and cherry notes with a delicate, tea-like body. Prefer medium roast? Stick with the standard dose but grind finer to unlock the cinnamon and kettle corn magic, rewarding you with a thicker body and rich chocolatey finish. The trick across both? A slightly finer grind than usual extracts all those delicious flavors and keeps everything beautifully balanced in your cup.
